CRGO Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Electrical Silicon Steel Product Description
CRGO stands for Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Silicon Steel, a specialized electrical steel with a highly aligned, directional crystal structure, known as Goss texture.
This alignment of grains is achieved through a cold rolling process and provides excellent magnetic properties, such as high magnetic permeability and low core losses, making CRGO ideal for high-efficiency transformer cores and other electrical equipment.
CRGO Electrical Silicon Steel Key Characteristics and Properties
Grain Orientation:
The grains are aligned in the rolling direction, enhancing magnetic properties along that axis.
High Magnetic Permeability:
CRGO readily accepts magnetic flux, which is essential for efficient magnetic cores.
Low Core Losses:
The specific microstructure helps to reduce energy loss, which is critical for transformer efficiency.
High Resistivity:
This property further contributes to reducing energy losses within the material.

- Production Process
- Silicon Steel Production: It begins as silicon steel, which contains 2.9% to 3.5% silicon.
- Cold Rolling: The material undergoes a cold rolling process that aligns the grains and develops the desired Goss texture.
- Lamination: The steel is then cut into thin laminations to form the core of transformers.
