Galvanized sheet and stainless steel are two different types of steel, both of which are widely used. So which of these two types is better? Please read the following article to find out.

1. Different concepts

Galvanized sheet means that in order to prevent the surface of the steel plate from being corroded and prolong its service life, the surface of the steel plate is coated with a layer of metal zinc. This zinc-coated sheet is called galvanized sheet.

Stainless steel refers to steel that is resistant to weak corrosive media such as air, steam, and water, and chemically corrosive media such as acid, alkali, and salt, also known as stainless acid-resistant steel.

2. Different processing technology

Galvanized steel is mainly coated with a dense layer of zinc on the surface of steel to prevent it from being oxidized.

Stainless steel is the addition of other metal elements inside the steel, and the internal structure changes to prevent the product from rusting. Such as chromium stainless steel, chromium nickel stainless steel and chromium manganese nitrogen stainless steel.

3. Different uses

Galvanized sheet and strip products are mainly used in construction, light industry, automobile, agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery and commercial industries. For example, it is used for building roof panels, roof grilles, etc.; kitchen utensils, etc.; storage and transportation of materials, packaging utensils, etc.

Stainless steel is mainly used in the construction field and is one of the strongest materials in the construction metal materials. It is also used in the fields of food processing, catering, brewing and chemical industry that require high hygienic conditions.

Uses of Galvanized Sheet and Stainless Steel

The application of electro-galvanized sheet has been in machinery manufacturing, making galvanized sheet chain link fence, electronics, precision instruments, chemical industry, transportation, aerospace, etc.

Stainless steel is mainly used in the construction field for curtain walls, side walls, roofs, elevator decorative panels and other construction purposes. Chromium-containing stainless steels also combine mechanical strength and high elongation for machining components. It is also used in the manufacture of Class I and Class II tableware, kitchen utensils, water heaters, water dispensers, etc.

All in all, stainless steel is better by comparison. Galvanized sheet pipes are rarely used. At present, galvanized sheet pipes are rarely used for cold water pipes in new residential areas, and galvanized sheet pipes are used for hot water pipes in a few residential areas. The galvanized sheet pipe is used as a water pipe. After a few years of use, a large amount of rust is generated in the pipe. The outflowing yellow water not only pollutes the sanitary ware, but also contains bacteria that breed on the uneven inner wall.
