GNEE Steel Non-Oriented Silicon Steel in Power Transformer
Large energy saving potential of transformer
An expert from the National Transmission and Distribution Technology Cooperation Network said that transformers are the key electrical equipment for power transmission. Due to the large number of transformers, they consume considerable power. Relevant data shows that at present, the power consumed by all transformers in China accounts for 3% - 10% of the national power generation. In the distribution network loss, transformer loss accounts for 40% - 60%, with huge energy saving potential.
According to the requirements of the Twelfth Five Year Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, the loss of power transformers will be reduced during the Twelfth Five Year Plan period, in which the no-load loss will be reduced by 10% - 13%, and the load loss will be reduced by 17% - 19%. Therefore, the replacement of energy-saving products for high energy consumption transformers running on the grid has become the industry development trend.
It is understood that energy-saving distribution transformers include amorphous alloy core transformers, capacity regulating transformers, etc. For example, amorphous alloy transformer is an energy-saving transformer developed in the 1970s. Due to the use of a new soft magnetic material - amorphous alloy, the performance of amorphous alloy transformer exceeds that of traditional silicon steel transformer. It is estimated that the no-load loss of amorphous alloy transformer is about 80% lower than that of traditional silicon steel sheet transformer, and the no-load current is about 85% lower. It is a distribution transformer with ideal energy-saving effect at present, but it has no advantages in price and raw material supply.

The market is still not fully started
The insiders told the reporter that at present, the market of energy-saving distribution transformers in China is scattered, coupled with the constraints of low industry threshold, mixed good and bad enterprises, lack of identification and standards, weak technical innovation and other factors, resulting in slow promotion of energy-saving transformers.
It is reported that transformers in China have experienced the replacement process of S7, S8, S9, S10, S11 and other series. As early as the mid 1980s, our government compulsorily adopted S7 series low loss distribution transformers to eliminate the high energy consumption transformers in JB1300-73 and JB500-64 standards that were then operating in the power grid nationwide. Since 1998, urban and rural power grid transformation has been carried out nationwide, replacing S7 series with S9 series distribution transformers. In recent years, S13 and S15 products have been used in large quantities in the transformation of national urban and rural power grids, and their no-load losses are 50% - 80% lower than S9 transformers.
In order to promote the application of energy-saving transformers, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the Detailed Rules for the Promotion and Implementation of High Efficiency and Energy saving Distribution Transformers of Energy saving Products and People benefiting Projects as early as 2012, providing financial subsidies of 4 yuan to 30 yuan/kilovolt ampere for energy-saving transformers.
A person in charge of a transformer manufacturer told the reporter that due to factors such as raw materials, the cost of energy-saving transformers is significantly higher than that of traditional transformers, and the price factor is also the main factor affecting the popularization and promotion of energy-saving transformers. "Although there are subsidy projects for energy saving and benefiting the people to support high-efficiency energy-saving transformers, the market is still not fully started."
