Installation and Maintenance of 630 kVA Oil Cooled Power Transformer
Installation Key Points
Pre-Installation Preparation
Verify the foundation before installation to ensure its centerline, elevation, and strength meet design requirements, with a flat and stable site. Inspect the oil cooled power transformer's exterior and accessories for completeness to confirm no transport damage.
Transportation and Positioning
Use designated load-bearing points for loading/unloading. Control the traction speed ≤2m/min during overland transport. When positioning, use jacks and other tools to ensure uniform force application, and secure the oil natural air natural transformer firmly after placement.
Oil Filling and Nitrogen Purging
For nitrogen-filled transportation, inject purified oil from the bottom and purge nitrogen from the top during oil filling. After filling, let the oil immersed self cooled transformer stand for ≥12 hours (for 500kV and below). Alternatively, use vacuum nitrogen purging, selecting a well-ventilated location for the purge outlet, and inject dry air when breaking the vacuum.
Core Inspection
If transportation is uneventful and meets no-inspection criteria (e.g., manufacturer certification, capacity ≤1000kVA), core inspection may be waived. Otherwise, inspect the core by lifting the cover in favorable weather, controlling exposure time (≤16h at ≤65% humidity; ≤12h at ≤75% humidity). Check the tightness and insulation of the core, windings, and leads.
Maintenance Key Points
Daily Inspection
Regularly check for oil leakage, abnormal noises, or overheating. Monitor oil level and color to ensure oil quality. Clean radiators to prevent blockages affecting heat dissipation. Tighten terminal connections and inspect the grounding system for integrity.
Electrical Testing
Perform periodic insulation resistance tests (using a megohmmeter), ground resistance tests, and contact resistance tests. Detect partial discharges to identify insulation degradation. For newly commissioned or overhauled oil cooled transformers, conduct inrush closing tests (5 times for new products, 3 times after overhauls).
Oil Management
Regularly sample and test insulating oil for physicochemical properties, gas composition, PCB/furan content, and power factor. When oil quality is abnormal, treat it with a vacuum oil filter to ensure indicators like breakdown voltage and water content meet standards.
Periodic Overhauls
Divided into major overhauls (recommended every 8–10 years of operation) and minor overhauls. Major overhauls include core lifting, cleaning/maintenance of the core and tank, tap changer and accessory maintenance, and oil replacement. Minor overhauls focus on external cleaning, oil level adjustment, silica gel replacement, and routine tests.
