Silicon steel sheet is a special Electrical steel material, which is mainly used to manufacture iron cores in electrical equipment such as motors and transformers. The main components of silicon steel sheets are silicon and iron, with silicon content generally ranging from 3% to 4.5%, and iron content accounting for the majority. In addition, silicon steel sheets also contain some other elements, such as carbon, manganese, sulfur, etc.

Silicon is an important component in silicon steel sheets, which has good magnetic permeability, can improve the magnetic permeability of the iron core, and reduce the magnetic loss of the iron core. The higher the silicon content, the greater the magnetic permeability and the smaller the magnetic loss. Therefore, the silicon content in modern silicon steel sheets is generally between 3% -4.5%, while the silicon content in advanced silicon steel sheets can reach over 6.5%.
Iron is the main component of silicon steel sheets, occupying the majority of their weight. The content of iron has little effect on the properties of silicon steel sheets, but the purity and grain size of iron have an impact on the magnetic and mechanical properties of silicon steel sheets. Therefore, the purity requirements for iron in modern silicon steel sheets are becoming increasingly high, and the grain size is also becoming finer.
