1. Silicon steel sheet
Silicon steel sheet is a ferritic material. It is a thin sheet made of hot rolled or cold rolled after adding an appropriate amount of silicon, carbon and other elements with iron as the main raw material. The silicon steel sheet is characterized by high permeability, low coercivity, easy magnetization and high magnetic induction intensity. These characteristics make silicon steel sheets a common material for the manufacture of transformers.
However, the silicon steel sheet also has some defects. Because the silicon steel sheet has the magnetic domain structure of ferromagnetic crystal, it is necessary to reverse these magnetic domains when the direction of magnetic flux changes. This process causes core hysteresis and eddy current losses, resulting in power loss.
2. amorphous alloy
Amorphous alloy is a new type of transformer material. It is an amorphous alloy formed by mixing and melting of iron, silicon, hafnium, carbon and other elements. Compared with the silicon steel sheet, the advantages of amorphous alloy transformers are: no ferromagnetic grains, magnetic domains are not easy to form, there is no ferrohysteresis and eddy current loss, so it has lower power loss.
In addition, the high permeability of amorphous alloys, easy to magnetize, can effectively reduce magnetic leakage. At the same time, the price of amorphous alloys is relatively high.

3.Price
The price of silicon steel sheet in the market is relatively low, and the price of amorphous alloy is relatively high.
In summary, although silicon steel sheet and amorphous alloy transformers are both transformer materials, there are great differences between them. Silicon steel sheet is a traditional transformer material, although the power loss is a bit large, but the price is relatively cheap; Amorphous alloy is a new type of transformer material with low power loss but high price.
