What is cold rolled steel?
Cold rolled steel, often abbreviated as CR or CRS (cold rolled steel), is a product derived from steel. Cold-rolled steel plate represents the final stage of the steel manufacturing process, where the steel blank undergoes processes such as rolling, stamping and forming. Cold-rolled steel sheets reduce in thickness as they pass through these processes as the billet cools.
Cold-rolled steel sheets are processed at relatively low temperatures, around room temperature. The sheets are fed into the production line to remove the existing layer of rust on the surface. Subsequently, the surface is cleaned and a protective coating is applied.
