How to distinguish between hot rolling and cold rolling of silicon steel sheet
Cold rolled silicon steel sheet is divided into two kinds of grain orientation and grain orientation steel strip. Generally, the grain non-oriented cold rolled strip is used as an iron core for motors or welding transformers. Grain oriented cold rolled strip is used as the core of power transformers, pulse transformers and magnetic amplifiers.
Cold rolled oriented thin silicon steel strip is 0.30 or 0.35mm thick oriented silicon steel strip, and then pickling, cold rolling and annealing made. Cold rolled non-oriented silicon steel sheet is the billet or continuous casting billet hot rolled into a thickness of about 2.3mm coil. The cold-rolled electrical steel strip has the characteristics of flat surface, uniform thickness, high stacking coefficient, good punching property, and higher magnetic induction and lower iron loss than the hot-rolled electrical steel strip. By using cold strips instead of hot rolled strips to manufacture motors or transformers, the weight and volume can be reduced by 0-25%. If the cold-rolled orientation strip is used, the performance is better, and the hot-rolled strip or low-grade cold-rolled strip is replaced by it, the power consumption of the transformer can be reduced by 45%-50%, and the working performance of the transformer is more reliable.

The main differences are as follows: (1) The magnetic saturation point of cold-rolled silicon steel sheet is high, and the magnetic flux density begins to saturate at 1.9T (19000Gs); The saturation point of hot-rolled silicon steel sheet is about 1.6 T(16000Gs). (2) In the case of the same magnetic flux density and frequency, the unit loss of cold-rolled silicon steel sheet is lower than that of hot-rolled silicon steel sheet. (3) There are two kinds of cold-rolled silicon steel sheets with and without orientation. The orientation cold rolled silicon steel sheet has obvious directivity, that is, the magnetic properties along the rolling direction are good, the saturation flux density is high, and the unit loss and unit excitation capacity are small. At present, cold-rolled oriented silicon steel sheets are used on transformers. Hot-rolled silicon steel sheet is not oriented. (4) When the silicon steel sheet is processed by cutting or stamping, the effect on the performance of the cold-rolled silicon steel sheet is particularly obvious, and the effect on the hot-rolled silicon steel sheet is small, so when the cold-rolled silicon steel sheet is used in the small-capacity transformer, annealing measures can be taken, and the no-load loss can generally be reduced by about 8% after annealing.
