CRNGO Core Feature

Non-Grain Oriented Structure: In CRNGO steel, the crystal grains are not intentionally aligned during the cold-rolling process. This results in a random orientation of the grains throughout the material. While this makes CRNGO less efficient than CRGO in terms of core losses, it is more isotropic, meaning its magnetic properties are more consistent in all directions.

Higher Core Losses: CRNGO steel generally exhibits higher core losses compared to CRGO steel. Core losses, including hysteresis and eddy current losses, contribute to energy dissipation in the form of heat during the operation of transformers.

Applications: CRNGO steel is often used in applications where the magnetic field direction varies, such as in rotating machinery like electric motors. In transformers, CRNGO cores are commonly used in lower efficiency or less critical applications where cost considerations may be more important than achieving the highest possible efficiency.

Laminated Core Construction: Similar to CRGO cores, CRNGO cores are also constructed by stacking thin laminations of the steel. The lamination process helps to reduce eddy current losses by insulating the individual layers.
