The performance requirements for silicon steel sheet
Grain-oriented silicon steel or Grain-oriented electrical steel has its (110) crystal plane parallel to the steel strip plane, and the easily magnetizable <001> axis is parallel to the rolling direction. The silicon content of grain-oriented silicon steel is about 3%, with a requirement for low oxide inclusion content in the steel, while also containing certain inhibitors (MnS, AlN). The magnetic properties of Grain-oriented electrical steel have a strong directionality; the iron loss value is lowest and the permeability is highest in the rolling direction, and there is a high magnetic induction under a specific magnetic field.
The most widely used Grain-oriented silicon steel is often supplied in coil form, with an insulating layer applied on its surface to produce tensile stress in the base steel strip, thereby further reducing the iron loss value. The cold-rolled strip has a flat surface, good punching performance, and a high core filling coefficient.
