Hot Rolled Silicon Steel
Production Method: Hot-rolled silicon steel is produced by heating steel ingots or slabs to high temperatures (typically above 1700°F or 925°C) and then rolling them through heavy rollers to reduce their thickness. This process does not involve the controlled grain orientation found in grain-oriented silicon steel used in transformers.
Grain Structure: Unlike grain-oriented silicon steel, hot-rolled silicon steel does not have a grain-oriented crystal structure. Instead, it typically has a random, non-oriented grain structure.
Magnetic Properties: Hot-rolled silicon steel possesses good magnetic properties, making it suitable for various magnetic applications. However, it may have higher core losses compared to grain-oriented silicon steel.
