Non-grain-oriented cold-rolled strips Description
Non-grain-oriented cold-rolled strips are primarily used for motor cores and welding transformers, while grain-oriented cold-rolled strips serve as core materials for power transformers, pulse transformers and magnetic amplifiers. The thin cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel strips are manufactured by pickling, cold rolling and annealing processes starting from 0.30 or 0.35mm thick grain-oriented silicon steel strips. In contrast, cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel sheets are produced by hot-rolling steel billets or continuous casting slabs into approximately 2.3mm thick coils before cold rolling. Cold-rolled electrical steel strips exhibit superior characteristics including smooth surface, uniform thickness, high stacking factor and excellent punchability, along with higher magnetic induction and lower core loss compared to hot-rolled electrical steel strips.
