Hot dipped galvanized sheet
A653 is the standard specification for mild steel product grades. It has excellent welding ability, easy processability, shearability and formability. A653 is typically manufactured in parts that do not require high strength. This may include clamp fixtures, truck bed components, tool boxes, dumpsters, outdoor signage, building fixtures and outdoor hardware.
ASTM A653 covers hot-dip galvanized or zinc-iron alloy coated (galvanized) steel in sheet, coil, and cut lengths.
ASTM A653 galvanized steel is available in six metallurgical designations, providing varying degrees of formability and strength to the substrate:
●Commercial steel (CS),
●Formed steel (FS),
●Deep drawn steel (DDS),
●Extra deep drawing steel (EDDS),
●Structural steel (SS),
●High strength low alloy steel (HSLA).
